A dry patch is a symptom. Find the cause.
What actually goes wrong in a Bakersfield yard, and what we fix:
Sprinkler leaks and broken pipes
Clogged or broken sprinkler heads and pop up heads
Dead zones where nothing comes on
Valves that stick open or will not open
Wiring issues between the timer and the valves
Backflow devices
Sprinkler timer and controller replacement
Drip lines and drip emitters
Most of the time it is a few adjustments or replacements to pop up heads or drip lines, and the system runs properly again. Small repairs like that change how the yard looks and lower the water bill.
What homeowners notice before they call:
One zone stays dry while the rest of the lawn is fine. A valve, a wire or a break in the line.
A soft patch or a puddle that never dries. A leak underground, often at a fitting.
A head that sprays sideways, dribbles or will not pop up. Clogged or cracked.
The timer runs but nothing happens. Wiring or a failed solenoid on the valve.
The water bill jumped and the yard did not get greener.

Bakersfield groundwater is moderately hard on average and very hard in parts of the city: Cal Water's own report puts it at 109 parts per million, with a range up to 380. That mineral builds up as scale on nozzles, inside pop up heads and on drip emitters. A head does not fail all at once. It sprays a little less each month until one patch of lawn browns.
So a lot of sprinkler repair here is cleaning or swapping heads, not digging up pipe, and we check the whole zone, not only the head you noticed.
The City of Bakersfield sets watering days by street number. Under the Stage 2 rules in place since December 2021, odd numbered addresses water Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, even numbered addresses Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, nobody on Monday, and only after 6pm or before 9am. Cal Water customers have their own version. The city's current schedule is here.
Water conservation is very important, especially here in California, and we take it seriously. When we repair or replace a timer we set it to your allowed days and hours before we leave, so you are not the house with sprinklers running at noon.

Every zone, not only the one you called about. A second problem usually shows up once the first is fixed.
The most popular components ride with us, so the repair happens with little to no delay. If a part has to be ordered, you will know before we leave.
Trenches closed, heads set, timer on the city's days, and the yard looking better than when we arrived.
We repair irrigation at business properties around Bakersfield as well as at homes. A stuck valve on a commercial lot wastes far more water than one at a house, and a dead zone in front of a storefront is the first thing customers see. Ask about a full irrigation check when we come out.
The estimate is free. We run the system, find the problem and tell you what it is before anything is replaced. You get a written quote for your repair, not a rate off a list. Nothing starts until you say yes.
Financing is available on larger jobs. Ask when we come out.

“Julio has been absolutely outstanding!! We have had a challenging time with a particular area on my property and he has been so gracious and perseverant with trying to solve it. He has come out several times and has never asked for a dime for his extra time. Talk about going the extra mile. His service is impeccable, pricing is very fair, and the work done right. I can not say enough good things about this company. Give them a try ... you'll be so happy you did!”
“Julio and his team did such an efficient job! We needed several bushes cleared from our property within a tight timeframe. Communication with Julio was easy and straightforward. He was able to come out quickly to provide a quote and complete the work just a few days before our opening. We truly appreciate their speed and quality of work. The clearing ended up looking great!”
Some of it. A clogged nozzle or a cracked pop up head is a hardware store part and ten minutes.
Valves, wiring, hidden leaks and backflow devices are where people dig holes in the wrong place. Swapped the head and the zone is still wrong? Book a free estimate.
A zone that never comes on while the others do, a zone that will not shut off, or water seeping at the valve box. Sometimes it is only the solenoid, a quick swap. Sometimes the diaphragm inside has gone. We test at the valve before replacing anything.
Pipe underground lasts decades. Heads, nozzles and emitters are the wear parts, and our hard water shortens their life. Valves and timers sit in between. A system that gets its heads cleaned outlives one left alone.
Yes. We design, install, repair and maintain sprinkler and drip systems year round. If the old system is past repair, or the yard is being built from scratch, the irrigation gets planned with the landscape design.
Sprinkler repair is usually the first call. These tend to follow it.
